Lauren Skousen Photography bio picture

My name is Lauren Skousen. Thanks for visiting my little corner of the internet! I'd love for you to look around my site and see quick peeks of my most recent work!

I'm a family girl, a wife, a mama to two munchkins (and one more on the way soon); I'm a Diet Coke drinker, a Target regular, a list maker, a clean freak. And I'm a portrait photographer.

I love the opportunity to capture life's moments. Whether it's capturing those irresistible rolls of your baby, or your family interacting with one another, or the love between you and your husband before your new bundle of joy arrives, or freezing your toddlers contagious laugh, or capturing who you are before new adventures unfold after high school graduation.

My style of photography is clean, simple and timeless. I love capturing the traditional images along with candid images that help to tell your unique story. I love when clients trust me and can be themselves in front of me! It's when your genuine selves shine through that I'm truly able to tell your story with my camera!

I specialize in on location children, family, maternity, senior and lifestyle portraits. I photograph a select number of wedding each year.

If you have any questions regarding my photography services, please email me (see the "Contact" tab above). I look forward to the opportunity of telling your unique story!

Glendora, CA Child Photographer : First Tooth

My little girl lost her first tooth today! About two weeks ago she was talking to me and I noticed that her tooth looked crooked…I then realized that it was loose! It’s just looked like a jagged tooth for weeks because she didn’t wiggle it much. Today, I told her how she better hurry and start wiggling it or the tooth fairy couldn’t come. Later this afternoon, she came to me with the most worried face saying, “Mom, I can’t wiggle my tooth anymore!” I looked closer and saw that she couldn’t wiggle her tooth anymore because it was gone, lol! We looked all over the house and couldn’t find the tooth, so she literally “lost” her first tooth! She had no idea that she lost it…talk about anticlimactic!

Is it strange that having my first child lose her first tooth is making me so sad, lol! She’s growing up way too fast. I was really hoping that her baby teeth would hold off just a little longer. Now seeing an empty spot in her smile is a reminder that she’s growing up. This girl does not like her mom to take pictures of her, but I told her that losing her first tooth was reason to take photos because I needed to document this! Oh how I love this girl…such a beauty!

As if having a child lose their tooth isn’t enough of a reminder that your kids are growing up, this little monkey has two new teeth to show off (you might notice her Amber teething necklace. We’re giving it a try because this mama can’t survive all the nighttime wakeup calls…teething is the pits)!
