My name is Lauren Skousen. I’m a Southern California based photographer, but am available to travel anywhere! I specialize in on location children, family, senior and lifestyle portraits (I do photograph a select number of weddings each year). I have been happily married to my husband for 5 years. We have a beautiful daughter and son! My love and passion for photography began when I was young. I can remember making a studio in my home and taking pictures of my sisters with my mom’s film camera. After my daughter was born, I decided to further pursue my passion of photography. I enjoy being able to provide beautiful memories for others! I always say that I have the best job...I love what I do!

Kelsey is another one of my Senior Rep Models for Glendora High. Knowing that Kelsey is about to graduate High School makes me realize how fast time flies by!! I remember when I moved back to Glendora, over five years ago, I was her Beehive advisor in Young Womens and she was 12 years old. Now she’s a senior in high school and getting ready to go to BYU…wohoo (I’m just a little biased since I graduated from there)! I’ve watched her grow up into a beautiful young woman!
Kelsey’s session really was a lot of fun! She was the ideal girl for a senior session…she’s beautiful, not embarrassed to be in front of the camera, and had fun! She also brought along people to the shoot that she felt comfortable to be herself around and who helped her warm up in front of the camera! I loved the locations that we used for her session!

Lacey is one of my High School Senior Rep Models for 2012! I loved every minute of her session…she’s a very sweet and beautiful girl! When I asked her what three words she would use to describe herself, she said athletic, energetic and whimsical. I would have to agree! It was fun getting to know her. Something that’s very important to her is cheerleading! She’s a level 5 All Star Cheerleader and has the awesome opportunity of performing with her team in the World Championship this month! I love photographing Seniors. It’s such an amazing time of their life and it’s fun to be able to document who they are, before they move to the next big chapter in their lives! Good luck to you Lacey…I know that you will go far!

After our Girls Getaway in St. George, we drove the rest of the way to Riverton, where my husband’s family all lives. We were only there for a few days before we turned back around and drove home again…it was a short trip with lots of travel time! But we managed to squeeze in a quick session with Miss Taylor for her 2 year photos! She is too cute…just look at her skinny jeans and little flats! I loved the location and the light…and loved the images from this session! But here are some of my favorites…
A couple weeks ago, I met up with my sister-in-laws in St. George for a little Girls Getaway. While we were there, I took photos of my adorable nieces!
The summer after my freshman year at BYU…oh my goodness, that was 9 years ago, that makes me feel old…Donna and I worked together in the Kids Club at LA Fitness! I always enjoyed when I got to work the same shift as her! I was SO excited when she asked me to be her wedding photographer. You can really tell that Donna and Dan are in love!
We did the first half of their engagement photos at the Cal State Fullerton Arboretum. The location was fitting, because Donna actually went to school at Cal State Fullerton. Then, we took the other half of the photos at park in Fullerton. Here’s my favorites…

I always look forward to photographing these beautiful cousins! I feel like I’ve been able to watch them grow up before my eyes, each time that I’ve photographed them over the past few years! Their grandma got them each these adorable outfits for Christmas, so they wanted to get photos of them all together before one family moved. Here are my favorites from the session…
They were basically done about this time, but I was determined to get some more shots, so I took them off by myself (away from their moms) and said a few words, like, “poo and toot” and boy did they think that was hilarious…kids are too funny! I love these ones!

I’m searching for fun, outgoing, and energetic high school seniors to be my Senior Rep Models for the Class of 2012! I’m accepting applications from Seniors in the surrounding areas of Glendora, CA (Glendora High, Charter Oak High, San Dimas High, South Hills High, and so forth). I will be accepting only 1 Senior Rep Model from each school. Space is limited and not everyone will be accepted.
A Senior Rep model is essentially a spokesman, who helps promote Lauren Skousen Photography. It’s simple…all you have to do is tell all of your friends and classmates about your experience and show off your photos! And in return, you get free stuff!
Is there a deadline?
Yes, entries must be in by Thursday, March 8th. Reps will be notified on Friday, March 9th.
Does it cost anything?
No. If you’re selected to be a Senior Model Rep, you will receive a FREE photoshoot , 2 sheets of wallets with an image of your choice and 10 watermarked images sized for Facebook (you can get the CD of images for free, once you have referred 2 seniors that book a session). As an added bonus, there will even be incentives for each person you refer that books a session with Lauren Skousen Photography…think gift cards! Make sure that your friends mention your name when booking their session for a referral credit to count.

It’s always a good reason to take family photos, when most of your kids have moved out of state and are finally all together for the holidays! I had the pleasure of photographing the {L} Family the day after Christmas. I grew up with this family in my ward at church, so it was fun to catch up with them a bit. I feel kind of old seeing how the girls that are below me are almost done with college, in college, etc.
It was hilarious trying to capture photos of all the kids jumping in the air! My favorite part is that things like this capture true smiles and happiness!
I love when clients trust me! I looked up and spotted this tiny available area (in the mud), up on the hill. I loved the light and the twigs in the backdrop, so I asked them if they’d be willing to take our last shot in this location. After several minutes of trying to maneuver in the small space, on an incline, in the mud, we finally got their placements! I am so glad they trusted me and didn’t complain or say no, because I really like this photo!
I was delighted when Katie asked if I would be available to take their family photos on Christmas Eve. We were able to do the session in the early afternoon, before all of the family festivities! When I showed up, the family was all dressed in their beautiful attire! Seriously, this is one good looking family! I really enjoyed my session with the {C} Family!
With extended sessions, it’s tricky to get all of the kids looking…I have to get pretty silly to get their attention (I’m sure all the adults during these kind of sessions are embarassed for me inside, lol)!
